MGICIAN Kick-Off Meeting

The Kick-Off Meeting of the Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network MGICIAN – MaGnesium Alloys for effICient solId stAte cooliNg (2026–2029) was held at the coordinating institution IFW Dresden, Germany, on 21 January 2026.

Representatives of the beneficiaries and partner organisations met to discuss key aspects of the project’s implementation. The meeting marked the official start of MGICIAN, which began in January 2026 and is funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme.

During the meeting, dedicated sessions addressed:

• Scientific and technological objectives
• Work package planning and deliverables
• Doctoral training programme and secondments
• Recruitment of 15 Doctoral Candidates in line with MSCA regulations
• Communication, dissemination, and outreach strategy
• Management, governance, and financial procedures

The discussions established a clear roadmap for collaboration and set the foundation for the successful implementation of the project.
